Job description

The Blood Cancer Research Group at the University of Ostrava and University Hospital Ostrava invites applications for a Post-doctoral position in Cancer Immunotherapy research. The research group is a newly established young international team led by experienced scientists with many national and international collaborations and, as such, provides an attractive opportunity to pursue a career in science.

Our exciting research projects focus on novel therapeutic approaches to treat hematologic malignancies harnessing the natural antitumor capacity of the immune system. Our research benefits from a large biobank and access to unique patient samples. We employ the latest experimental approaches, including next-generation sequencing, CRISPR-Cas9 genome modification, mass spectrometry, non-invasive bioluminescence imaging, and all standard molecular and cell biology techniques. Importantly, we collaborate with prestigious international centers and pharma companies. The project details are available upon request.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive post-doc with previous lab experience and a deep interest in biomedical research. Background in Molecular biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Animal handling, Microbiology, or Biochemistry is advantageous. Good command of English, including writing skills, is mandatory. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and performing biological experiments, analysis of results, presenting results at regular meetings and conferences, supervision of junior scientists and technicians working in the project, and contributing to publications.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular/Cell biology, Cancer biology, or related fields.

Possibility of academic career development and long-term collaboration.

To apply, send us your CV and a brief motivation letter with two references till the 15th of March. The applications will be evaluated continuously, and selected candidates will be invited for a Skype interview.
