Open position in digital communications
and radio platforms for telemetry
Within the framework of a collaboration with an aeronautic company, the objective of the work is to carry out a radio transmission using USRP modules (Universal Software Radio Peripheral) whose basic processing (error correcting codes, mapping, form wave) comply with those of the aeronautical telemetry standard (IRIG). The main task of the position is to implement detection algorithms in Python and / or C / C ++. The final goal is to import these algorithms to GNU Radio in order to transmit data using the USRP transmit and receive modules. Particular attention should also be paid to the synchronization function between both USRP modules. The waveform used is a particular CPM (Continuous Phase Modulation) and the error correction code is an LDPC.
Background: The person recruited must demonstrate knowledge in digital communications, radio frequency systems and implementation (Python, C / C ++). Experiences on radio modules (USRP type or others) and / or in VHDL (Verilog) - Xilinx environment will be highly appreciated.
