The Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences offers a 10-month Senior Researcher position in Sofia, Bulgaria, with a possibility for extension. The research field is Algebraic and Differential Geometry.
The position is part of the 5-year project "Categorical Kaehler Geometry and Applications" (CKGA) starting in January 2020, funded by the National Science Fund of Bulgaria. Project PI is Prof. Ludmil Katzarkov.
We seek highly motivated team worker to participate in high-level cutting edge research on the border of category theory and PDE. The expected outcome will lead to new unexpected applications to a hundred year old problem in algebraic geometry. Participants in the team will have the opportunity to collaborate and learn from the leading researchers in the filed – Maxim Kontsevich and Tony Pantev.
We expect that candidates have a solid knowledge of modern geometric PDE, Kaehler-Ricci flow and theory of central manifold. The ultimate goal of the project is interpreting these PDE notions from the point of view of categorical theory.
Interested candidates should contact Prof. Ludmil Katzarkov (firstname.lastname@example.org) and provide a curriculum vitae and a list of publications.
