We are recruiting! Open Ph.D positions to study mechanisms of muscle wasting and weakness in aging, disease or exposure to microgravity.
@ Shenhav Cohen lab at the faculty of Biology, Technion, Israel.
The research in our lab focuses on the molecular mechanisms of protein degradation in atrophying muscle during aging, fasting, cancer, metabolic disorders (type 2 diabetes, obesity), microgravity, or motor neuron degeneration.
We use cutting edge innovative technologies in biochemistry, genetics, and proteomics, as well as bioinformatic approaches, electron microscopy, and super-resolution microscopy. The combination of these powerful tools together with the development of in vitro regimes increase our understanding of muscle architecture and homeostasis in health and disease.
PhD positions are now available in our lab. We are seeking highly motivated, excellent, hard-working, and enthusiastic students, with passion for science to join our team! The successful candidates will enjoy a unique stimulating research environment, will benefit from working in a dynamic and highly collaborative group, and will have access to state-of-the-art technologies and core-facilities.
The Technion has been Israel’s primary technological university for more than eight decades and the largest center of applied research. It is ranked among the leading technological universities in the world, and its researchers have won many prestigious international awards over the years, including three Nobel prizes in the last decade.
PhD candidates are welcome to contact Dr. Shenhav Cohen (email@example.com) with a statement of interest and CV.
