The Department of Sociology and Social Policy brings together scholars with international research experience and publication records in major outlets in the area of Sociology and Social Policy. The Department is a recipient of the University’s Research Excellence Award and Teaching Excellence Awards. We offer teaching in Sociology and Social Policy and co-host the Health and Social Services Management Major with the Asia Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies and the Social and Public Policy Studies Major with the Department of Economics. In addition, the Department hosts an MSocSc Programme in Comparative Social Policy (International)(IMCSP) and has been successful in attracting MPhil and PhD students from around the world as well as Hong Kong PhD Fellows and winning other external competitive grants. General Requirements

A part-time lecturer is needed to teach the course “Governance, Management and Delivery” as part of the MSocSc Programme in Comparative Social Policy (International) (please find course details here: https://ln.edu.hk/f/upload/58301/SOC%20601.pdf). The applicants should have a PhD degree in Social Policy, Political Science, Public Administration, or other relevant fields with relevant teaching experience. Applicants are required to provide information on their evidence of quality teaching. Excellent communication and presentation skills in English are essential. The appointee should be able to take up teaching duties, prepare and score formative and summative student assignments, and be available to join programme committees discussing examination matters as appropriate.

Appointment

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis.
