Applications are invited for a Research Support Assistant/Technician in the Speech Acquisition and Perception Group (SAP), Computational Neuroscience Group (CNS), Language and Comparative Cognition Group (LCC) and the Theoretical Neuroscience (TNC) Groups at Pompeu Fabra University, Center for Brain and Cognition (CBC), https://www.upf.edu/web/cbc/.
This position is supported by the projects: Multimind-The Multilingual Mind, Id. 765556 MSCA-ITN-2017 Innovative Training Network, financed by EU Horizon 2020; ProsCons-Prosodic constraints in the discovery of linguistic structure: Exploring domain specificity and experience (ref. PGC2018-096641-B-I00) financed by the Spanish Research Agency (AEI) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF); euSNN-European School of Network Neuroscience, Id. 860563 MSCA-ITN-2019 Innovative Training Network, financed by EU Horizon 2020; DICODE-DIssecting the factors of the neuronal CODE that affect sensory information and behavior (ref. BFU2017-85936-P) financed by the Spanish Research Agency (AEI) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Job Description
Research support tasks:
-Recruiting for studies : families (infant studies) and adult participants
-Managing human studies – manage appointments/agenda, organize study meetings, prepare stimuli, questionnaires, translation of experimental material, reception of families/participants, coding/doublecoding, update database, manage lab logistics, organize lab materials ("stocks")
-Prepararing and managing animal studies
-Updating and organizing experimental data and suport for preliminary analysis
-Organizing project events (workshops, summer schools, meetings)
Candidate minimum requirements:
-Proficient knowledge of English. Fluent in Spanish and Catalan, a plus.
-Experience as a Research assistant/technician in R&D (two years).
Desired capacity to demonstrate:
-Experience as a Research Technician in Neuroscience.
-Proven ability to prioritize a varied workload and to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
-High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
-Proactive, flexible and problem solving attitude.
-Team player and ability to work independently.
-Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, including written communication.
Conditions: Start date 1 January 2020. Duration 1 year. The position may be renewed.
