The Barcelona Institute for Global Health, ISGlobal, is the fruit of an innovative alliance between academic, government, and philanthropic institutions to contribute to the efforts undertaken by the international community to address the challenges in global health.
What We Are Looking for:
ISGlobal is looking for a motivated laboratory technician to support the daily development of the project entitled ATHLETE (Advancing Tools for Human Early Lifecourse Exposome Research and Translation). ATHLETE project has received funding from H2020 (grant agreement 874583) and aims to implement the exposome in birth cohorts in order to study the effects of a wide range of community-level and individual-level environmental risk factors on mental, cardiometabolic, and respiratory health outcomes and associated biological pathways during the first 2 decades of life.
Main duties and tasks:
The candidate will work on the processing of urine samples from the volunteers participating in the BISC cohort. The candidate will also prepare all the material and labels needed for these samples and will digitalize the forms containing information about this biological samples extraction.
The candidate will also coordinate the biobank and the samples shipping from hospitals to ISGlobal and from ISGLobal to other laboratories.
- Duration: 7,5 months.
- Starting date: 1st January 2020.

Training and experience:
- Medical Laboratory Technician Associate's degree (“Ciclo formativo de grado superior – Técnico superior de laboratorio”) or equivalent.
- Degree on Biology or equivalent.
- Experience in molecular biology will be valued.
