Applications are invited for a Ph.D. position (“Early Stage Researcher”) at the Physics Department of the Sapienza University of Rome. The position will be funded by the Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network “Active Matter: From Fundamental Science to Technological Applications” within the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Commission. The successful candidate will receive specific training in digital video microscopy, two-photon polymerization, microbiology techniques for bacteria culturing and molecular biology for genetic manipulations. Previous experience with experimental and computational methods in these fields will be considered a plus. Scientific contact:

In order to be approved for MSCA financing the applicant, at the time for the application, should not have resided in Italy more than 12 months in the 3 year immediately prior to the reference date. Moreover the applicant must be in the first four years (full-time equivalent research experience) of their research careers and have not been awarded a doctoral degree.
Foreign citizens who are not resident in Italy will have to produce, before the stipulation of the contract, appropriate certifications regarding their Master degree qualification.
