Offer Description
The European Doctoral Network RELIANCE seeks 14 PhD candidates for enrolment in an interdisciplinary training program on development of machine learning support real-time characterization techniques for composite materials. RELIANCE, standing for “REAL-TIME CHARACTERIZATION OF ANISOTROPIC CARBON-BASED TECHNOLOGICAL FIBRES, FILMS AND COMPOSITES”, is a European Marie Sklodowska-Curie Doctoral Network funded by HORIZON Europe.
If you are eager to work with new X-ray scattering and imaging technologies, and have not yet been awarded a doctoral degree, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
As a PhD student in the RELIANCE network, you will:
Work with key challenges that X-ray Scattering and Imaging need to overcome for being a versatile scientific and industrial tool applicable for in-line application, i.e., providing feedback to industrial processing in real time.
Join a multi-disciplinary network comprised of 8 high-profiled European academic institutions and 8 industrial enterprises all actively involved in X-ray scattering, imaging and composite materials. The team holds excellent expertise on the development of scattering and imaging technologies and the industrial application of such technologies.
Be enrolled in a comprehensive educational program comprised of summer schools, workshops, career plans, and secondments. Thanks to the secondments (3-10 months), you will experience to work both in academic and industrial research environments.
Strengthen your international profile by living and working in a new country. All PhD students in the RELIANCE network have to undertake physical transnational mobility in line with rules for European Doctoral Networks, i.e., you have to move from one country to another when taking your new position.
