Postdoctoral Research Associate on CFD

The Modeling, Simulation, and Extended Reality lab is looking for a postdoctoral fellow. The lab is led by Prof. Senol Piskin. Prof. Piskin has recently been awarded a Marie Sklodowska-Curie fellowship. The project is about medical flow simulation and includes computational fluid dynamics, clinical image processing, segmentation, simulation, geometric analysis, and physics-based machine learning. It aims to perform realistic simulations of the human cardiovascular system to predict related diseases and to plan the surgery/treatment in collaboration with surgeons. It is also expected to run external flows of virtual terrains. We strongly collaborate with medical centers and universities in Turkey and Europe.  The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for data collection, image segmentation/processing, CFD simulation, postprocessing, and drafting manuscripts. It is also expected the fellow supervises several undergraduate graduate students working on the same topic. This is a full-time job with a fixed-time contract (1 to 3 years).

Qualifications of the candidate:

-Ph.D. degree in a relevant field (i.e. mechanical engineering or biomedical engineering)

-Experience in CFD simulations, clinical image processing, segmentation

-Proficiency in English
