We proposed an experimental intership focuses on the optoelectronic and nanomechanic of 2D materials as MoS2, WSe2 or SnSe2. Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) are semiconductors of the thickness of an atom and, in our case, very large lateral size (>100µm). They are, by nature, a rich platform for condensed matter physic such as for optoelectronics, electrical transistor but also nanomechanics. Mechanical vibration is the relationship between the discovery of gravitational cosmic waves and the most accurate scales in the world, able to measure the mass of a single hydrogen atom. It works as a quasi-universal probe for many other condensed matter problems and we apply it to detect its own optoelectronic properties. When 2D material are suspended between two supports, they form mechanical nano-drums with extreme sensitivity to external forces or masses but also to internal deformations, electronic charge or photocurrents. Our activities focus on a new type of sample with a large layer of MoS2 monolayer suspended with electrical contacts. This type of hybrid opto-electro-mechanical structure (NOEMS) combines both nanomechanics and the interesting properties of large 2D materials. Potentially, an extension to a PhD will be funded by an ANR project (Deus-nano).
