OFFER DESCRIPTION
This is an offer for a PhD scholarship (3 years) to be performed in the frame of a Research Project funded by the Spanish Reserach Ministry. The project involves the use of biomarkers and genomic data to identify pigs that show a more resilient phenotype in field conditions.
The candidate is expected to help gathering the field data, and perform lab work related to DNA/RNA isolation, and amplification and sequencing of target genes. High-throughput genotyping data and whole-genome sequencing data will be obtained in the course of this project. The candidate will also be trained in the analysis and interpretation of these data.

Terms of employment: The position as a PhD fellow is available for 1 year and it can be extended up to 2 years more.
Gross salary between 14.700 € and 16.000 €

Skills/Qualifications
- Previous knowledge on animal physiology, immunology and production systems
- Interest and expertise in the genetics and genomics of farm animals
- Ability to team working and self-initiative
- Ability to plan, organise and conduct experiments
- High motivation and willingness to learn new techniques and approaches
- Fluency in English (oral and written)
Specific Requirements
Master's degree or equivalent (300 ECT credits without Master's Degree title, comprising Bachelor's and Master's studies).
