Aims of the project:
The project is focused on the pathogenesis and therapeutic aspects of Duchenne muscular dystrophy, particularly pertaining tothe (1) identification of dystrophin and utrophin functions in signal transduction pathways, (2) deciphering the regulatory mode of expression of dystrophin and utrophin, and (3) uncovering the roles of dystrophin and utrophin in crosstalk between adjacent and distant cell structures, cells and tissues. To address these aims, a well-established experimental model of an in vivo muscle regeneration process will be used in murine models of Duchenne muscular dystrophy as well as muscle, cardiomyocyte and neural cell cultures. A wide range of experimental techniques will be implemented, including cloning and transfections, siRNA delivery to cells and tissues, semi-quantitative and quantitative PCRs, Western blotting, co-immunoprecipitation, fluorescence microscopy, mass spectrometry and high throughput sequencing.
Post-doc salary: 10 000 PLN brutto brutto/month. The position is initially for 2 years, with a possibility to extend for additional 3 years.

Funding: Sonata Bis 8 "Dystrophin- and utrophin-dependent signal transduction in transcriptome regulation and crosstalk between adjacent and distant cell structures, cells and tissues, and its role in Duchenne muscular dystrophy pathogenesis".
Required for this position:
- PhD in molecular biology, biotechnology or related area
- hands-on experience in standard molecular biology techniques
- fluency in both written and oral English
- excellent publication track record
- experience in fluorescence microscopy, cell culture and mouse work
- curiosity and strong motivation to address scientific questions
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- experience in bioinformatics is a plus
