The Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology – Hans Knöll Institute – (Leibniz-HKI, www.leibniz-hki.de) investigates the pathobiology of human-pathogenic fungi and identifies targets for the development of novel natural product-based antibiotics. The Research Group Systems Biology and Bioinformatics invites talented and highly gifted candidates to apply for a

Doctoral Researcher (f/div/m) in Metagenomics

SBI is a member of several national and international collaborations aiming to understand the microbial balance from the molecular to the ecosystem level and to develop detection and manipulation technologies to create beneficial impact. The successful candidate will analyse and integrate microbiome and mycobiome sequencing data with clinical meta-data obtained from large patient cohorts including, among others, cancer, obese, diabetic, NAFLD and ICU patients. He/ she will work closely with wet-lab scientists and clinicians to reveale host meta-omics signatures that can be subsequently used to match the right treatment to the right patient, and to adapt therapy thereafter.
