International Economics at BSc in International Business and Politics is taught in English. The purpose of the course is to give students an understanding of (I) the consequences of free international trade, (II) the effects of various trade policies, and (III) open-economy macroeconomics with the focus on exchange rates and balance of payment. The job entails

  • Teaching minimum two and up to four small classes (about 40 students each) from week 37 to week 42 in the fall 2019. Each exercise class meets for two hours every week (2 x 45 min). The TA solves one or more exercises for which students have prepared in advance. Solutions are provided to TAs in advance
  • Grading the exams (either final or the retake exam or both)

The course runs twice per academic year, so there are opportunities to teach the course again in the future.

Qualifications
The applicant must hold a Master’s degree. Emphasis is placed on the applicant’s teaching potential.

Appointment and salary
Appointment and salary is based on the Ministry of Finance circular of January 17, 2001 on hourly-paid teaching.

Salary will only be paid for lessons taught, based on a salary report form. Please note that the total workload for a TA at CBS may not exceed 780 hours/year. For the exercise classes she/he gets 60 hours paid at 278 DKK (inclusive of vacation pay), and 1/3 of the hourly pay rate (278 DKK) for each exam graded.

Right now the schedule for the four classes are as seen below. However, it is possible to move them, although it is preferable to keep them as is.

  • Class XA is on Fridays from 08.00-09.40
  • Class XB is on Fridays from 09.50-11.30
  • Class XC is on Fridays from 11.40-13.20
  • Class XD is on Fridays from 13.30-15.10
