*The Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) is currently recruiting 2 Postdoctoral Research Fellows*:
*(1) Postdoctoral Research Fellow with expertise in Applied Mineralogy with focus on Geomaterials and 3D printing*
_We are looking for a highly motivated postdoc researcher to join Geomaterials & Applied Mineralogy research team. You will help to develop 3D printing techniques using mineral-based materials, in the area of innovative, high-value, novel applications. You will be partly assigned to GTK`s on-going science and innovation projects, but you will also be expected to participate in future project development. During your postdoc period you are expected to apply for national and international funding schemes._
_A PhD degree in Geology, Materials Science, or Materials Engineering is required as well as excellent communication skills in English (oral and written). Experience with the characterization of Geomaterials (both natural and man-made), including imaging of objects and specimens by X-CT, as well as 3D printing in a variety of materials, is all considered an advantage._
*(2) Postdoctoral Research Fellows with expertise in Economic Geology with focus on Mineral Systems and 3D Modeling*
_We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join Economic Geology research team. You will help to develop magmatic and hydrothermal mineral system models with special reference to battery and critical metals. You will be partly assigned to GTK`s on-going research and innovation projects, but you will also be expected to participate in future project development within the international innovation ecosystems. During your postdoc period you are expected to apply for national and international funding schemes._
_A PhD degree in Geology or Economic Geology is required as well as excellent communication skills in English (oral and written). Experience with mineral exploration and 3D modeling of mineral belts is considered an advantage._
We offer a modern, well-equipped working environment with teams comprising competent, internationally engaged, and highly trained staff.
The position will be filled initially for 2 years, with the possibility of renewal for a further 2 years with a possibility of permanent employment at the GTK. The preferred starting date is 1.1.2020 and you will be located in Espoo, Finland. The starting salary will be 3818 € per month.
