Full-time, Fixed Term (24 months)

Applications are invited for a 2-year fixed-term post of postdoctoral researcher funded by the ERC- funded CONNEC project: ‘Connected Clerics. Building a Universal Church in the Late Antique West (380-604 CE)’ (https://connectedclerics.com). Candidates will have completed a PhD in Late Antique History and be able to demonstrate a developing record of publications. The candidate will be expected to publish on the development of canon law between 380 to 604. They will also collaborate in CONNEC’s database of clerical connections and participate in the project’s research activities, such as meetings and publications.

This is a full-time post to begin 1 September 2019.

Skills/Qualifications

Knowledge, Education, Qualifications and Training PhD in Late Antique History Fluent and correct command of spoken & written English Research competence in Late Antique Canon law.

Skills and/or Abilities:

Ability to conduct research in campus and collaborate on the project's everyday activities.  

Ability to mentor PhD students.

Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Ability to organize research activities and manage research budget.

Experience:

Research experience in late antique History.

Experience organizing activity and leading groups.

Experience in writing successful grant proposals.  

Specific Requirements

Other requirements:

Evidence of outstanding design, implementation, writing-up and publication of individual research, appropriate to the candidate's career stage.
