OFFER DESCRIPTION
Applications are invited for a part-time Research Assistant in the Speech Acquistion and Perception Group (SAP) and the Speech Production and Bilingualism Group (SPB), at the Center for Brain and Cognition, Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
The position is funded in part by the projects: UNDER CONTROL-Mechanisms of cognitive control and language learning, Id. 323961 ERC Advanced Grant, financed by EU FP7; Multimind-The Multilingual Mind, Id. 765556 MSCA-ITN-2017 Innovative Training Network, financed by EU Horizon 2020; and SIMBILEX -Consequences of language similarity in the infant bilingual lexicon, ref. PGC2018-101831-B-I00, financed by the Spanish Research Agency (AEI) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
Job Description
Research Support tasks related to infant studies:
Recruiting families to participate
Update of the bablylab data base
Feedback to parents – giving them group results once the study their infant participated in finishes
Testing
Coding/double coding of the data
Research support tasks related to infant and/or adult studies
Manage experiments – prepare stimuli, questionnaires, scripts, check equipment, translation of experimental material, reception of families in the baby lab, run experiments
Data Organization and preliminary analysis
Candidate minimum requirements:
Proficient knowledge of English. Fluent in Spanish and Catalan, a plus.
Experience a s a Research assistant in R&D (two years).
Desired capacity to demonstrate:
Experience as a Research Assistant in Neuroscience.
Proven ability to prioritize a varied workload and to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Proactive, flexible and problem solving attitude
Team player and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, including written communication
Conditions: Start date 1 July 2019. Duration 6 months. The position may be renewed.
