The Biomimetic systems for cell engineering Research Group is looking for a PhD to develop his/her PhD thesis project on the development of new models of engineered tissues.
The contract will be within the framework of a collaborative European project that aims to produce advanced engineered tissue models by employing new bioinks and 3D ligh-based novel bioprinting techniques.
- Working conditions:
- Full time 3-year contract. Salary will be commensurate with academic level and experience.

The Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia, IBEC is an interdisciplinary research center focused on Bioengineering and Nanomedicine based in Barcelona. - Master (MSc) Material Science, Chemistry, Biomaterials or related disciplines
- Previous experience in biopolymer synthesis and/or functionalization, soft materials characterization, polymerization processes and biomaterials will be a value.
- Previous experience in cell culture on biomaterials will be desirable.
- High level of English
- High motivation and ability to be involved in an international multidisciplinary team
- Competencies and skills: Communication, Teamwork, Proactivity, Commitment, Collegiality, Integrity, Critical and Analytical thinking
According to the Spanish law PhD Candidates should be ready to enter an official doctoral program (under Spanish Law). By this time, they must have obtained a university degree and a master’s degree; or must hold an official university qualification from a country of the European Higher Education Area with a minimum of 300 ECTS of official university studies, of which at least 60 are at master’s level.
