The Department of Physics and Technology at Nanoscale of IEE is currently running several projects on 2D materials from the group of transition metal dichalcogenides. So far, our research is mainly focused on the growth of these materials but we would like to strengthen the material characterisation. For that, IEE SAS opens a postdoctoral position on thin film characterisation by optical methods, in particular infrared spectroscopy and light scattering. A successful applicant will perform the standard measurements using an FTIR and Raman setups and also temperature dependent measurements down to liquid helium temperatures. He or she should be able to analyse the as measured spectra in terms of different physical models, so a strong background in solid-state physics, solid-state spectroscopy or physical chemistry is desirable.

· 25 days of holidays
· Lunch vouchers
· Subsidy for sport and cultural activities
· Cover letter explaining the candidate’s interest in the position as well as current research interest
