We offer 4-year PhD position in Event-Based Control Strategies Based on Differential Flatness.
Supervisor: Dr. Arvo Kaldmäe

Description
The PhD project is a part of a bigger project with the aim to develop a novel method for controlling dynamical systems by combining the flatness-based feedforward control with the ideas from event-based control approach. There are different theoretical and practical aspects that the PhD candidate can study within the project.

An event-based control strategy for differentially flat systems has already been constructed. The tasks for the PhD candidate are as follows: 1) generalize the ideas of flatness-based feedforward control to non-flat systems; 2) generalize the developed event-based control approach to non-flat systems; 3) prove the stability of the closed-loop system; 4) test and implement the control approach. Note that, depending on how difficult these tasks are to follow, one can add tasks or change them. It is important to note that the candidate should be able to do theoretical work (for example, prove theorems). Knowledge on differential flatness is not required, but is seen as an advantage as it is one of the main concepts in the project.
