The Institut für Kommunikationstechnik (IKT) is offering a position as a Research Assistant (m/f/d) (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100 %) starting the next possible date. The position is initially limited to three years and includes the opportunity of graduating with a doctoral degree. It is planned to be funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions – Innovative Training Networks grant which is an international joint research training and doctoral program implemented by European partnerships and therefore involves a stay at a partner organization for several month. The research conducted will be part of the project Virtual Reality Audio for Cyber Environments (VRACE).

Scope of work

  • Signal processing for virtual acoustics
  • Acoustical measurements and simulations
  • Listening experiments and their evaluation

Eligibility criteria due to funding:

  • Lived in Germany for maximum 1 year in total during the last 3 years
  • Not enrolled in a doctoral program so far
  • Less than 4 years full-time equivalent of research experience since graduation

Qualifications

You are very motivated, self-initiated and have successfully completed your studies with a master university degree in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics. You are expected to have profound knowledge in signal processing for audio and acoustics as well as to have experience in developing software components in MATLAB or C/C++. Good communication skills in English and preferable German language, both oral and written, are furthermore desired.
