Project description:

Skin diseases are one of the most common human illnesses that cause a huge burden in the global context of health. Atopic dermatitis is a chronic eczematous skin disease that usually begins in childhood and often is combined with allergy problems. The current treatment is not able to support long-term curing effects, therefore the exploration and development of new strategies for skin regeneration are needed. The aim of this FIRST TEAM project funded by Foundation for Polish Science is to understand and control liquids release from nanofiber patches for atopic or allergic skin. With newly designed patches, we want to provide the best way to control the release of curing substances from nanofibers. The project includes the production of patches using electrospinning technique to produce polymer nanofibers and study their surface properties and liquids release from various designs.

Skills/Qualifications

Profile of candidates/requirements:

Applicants should have an PhD degree in a related discipline, science (materials science/biomaterials/chemistry/physics) or engineering.

Experience with confocal and fluorescence microscopy and sample preparation. The ideal candidate should have a very good understanding in the area of materials science, chemistry and polymers. Research interest in theoretical and experimental aspects in microfluidics through the porous materials. The candidate should be self-motivated, have good communication skills for regular interaction with other research partners

1. Fluent in English

2. Detailed CV – including a list of achievements, scientific degrees, publications, technical skills, research stays and other relevant experience

3. Motivation letter with an explanation of why I would like to join the Nano4Skin project

4. Contact details of 2 referees

5. Copy of PhD diploma, official confirmation of the obtained degree

6. Signed ‘Consent for the processing of personal data form’
