Offer Description
1. By decision of the Dean of the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, Professor Miguel Tamen, a tender is open for the award of one Scholarship for Postdoc (Bolsa de Investigação Pós-Doutoral).
This grant is funded by Portuguese national funds through Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, under project UIDP/00310/2020 of the Center of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon, from the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon.
2. The scholarship will be awarded for 10 months, and may be renewed up to a maximum of 36 months and during the eligibility of the project.
3. The scholarship will be supervised by Professor Ricardo Santos.
4. The scholarship holder is expected to develop with diligence all the activities necessary for the completion of the scientific project submitted and approved, and to participate actively and committedly in the activities of the research group of the Centre of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon in which he/she will be integrated.
5. Application submission

- degree certificate (if you do not have this document, you must send a statement of compliance - see template at FLUL website);
- doctoral thesis or equivalent document that determined the granting of this academic degree;
- research project (max. 3000 words);
- copy of two papers that the candidate considers most relevant.
The application and all documents associated with must be written in either Portuguese or English.
No required application document may be submitted after the deadline.
For application purposes, diplomas, certificates and transcripts need not be submitted. In lieu, a statement of compliance is required. Official transcripts must be submitted prior to the signing of the contract.

Upon completion of the grant period, the scholarship holder has up to 60 weekdays to submit to npac@letras.ulisboa.pt (a) final report on the activities and results (in electronic format); and (b) the supervisor(s)'s evaluation of the final report.
The final report will be evaluated by the supervisor(s) according to the following criteria:
- Quality of the work developed - 60%
- Achieved results achieved (publications, conference presentations) - 30%
- Integration and adaptation skills - 10%
Each criterion will be graded 0-20. The final evaluation will be 0-20.
Applicants must hold a PhD degree (Bolsa de Investigação Pós-Doutoral) in Philosophy.
Applicants must permanently and habitually reside in Portugal at the start date of the fellowship.
Applicants must have obtained the doctorate degree in the three years prior to the date of submission of the application for the grant.
Applicants cannot have carried out their doctoral research at Center of Philosophy of the University of Lisbon, unless the majority of the doctoral research work have not been carried out in the unit.
Additional Information
Stipend in accordance to the Portuguese Science Foundation salary scale, 1686,00€ per month (see https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores), paid by bank transfer.
Insurance costs (Seguro de Acidentes Pessoais and Seguro Social Voluntário) are supported by the employer.
Acceptance of the fellowship is exclusive of any other professional or research activity (Art. 5 of the Research Fellowship Holder Statute).
The following applicants are eligible:
a) Portuguese citizens or citizens of other Member States of the European Union;
b) Citizens of other countries;
c) Stateless persons;
d) Political refugees.
The selection criteria, expressed on a scale from 0 to 20 points, will be as follows:
1. Final Evaluation (FE):
1.1. Merit of the scientific publications of a philosophical nature, judged from the quantity, quality and academic prestige of the respective journals or publishers (40%);
1.2 Merit of the candidate's academic and scientific track record, judged on the basis of the curriculum vitae presented (30%);
1.3 Merit of the scientific project (30%)
Final evaluation = SP (40%) + CV (30%) + RP (30%)
Applicants who, at the end of the entire evaluation process, have been evaluated with less than 15 points will not be considered eligible for the grant.
Applicants with diplomas issued by foreign higher education institutions may apply and will be evaluated using the same criteria as applicants with diplomas issued by Portuguese institutions, as long as they make proof, in their application, of the academic degree recognition and the conversion of the final classification for the Portuguese scale under the terms of the applicable legislation.

Selected applicant(s) will be notified by email.
Applicants may submit queries or complaints about the decisions within a ten weekday working days period at the prior hearing of interested parties by email to the address for sending applications (see section “Offer Description”).
Final decisions must be announced within 90 weekdays of the application deadline and up to 60 weekdays after the end of the query and complaint deadline.
A complaint may be lodged against the final decision within 15 working days, or, alternatively, an appeal may be lodged with the Dean of FLUL within 30 working days, both after the respective notification.
In case of non-acceptance by the selected applicant(s), the grant may be offered to any of the other ranked applicants within 18 months of the final announcement.
