The PhD position consists in developing decision architectures for multi-robot systems. Such architecture must embed several decision processes (e.g., task planning, motion planning, cooperative control, execution control, reaction to hazards...) in a consistent way. The PhD candidate will have to take into account several challenges while developing such a decision architecture, specifically regarding the distribution of the decision process (with respect to communication constraints), and the possibility to provide some guarantees on the consistency of the global decision process.
The PhD candidate will be integrated in the robotics and autonomous systems team and its work will be applied and integrated on several multi-robot experiments.
The PhD candidate will be part of the autonomous systems lab of ONERA, located in Toulouse, France. This lab is one of the leaders in fielded multi-robot autonomous systems, especially in the realization of heterogeneous multi-robots field experiments (see for instance one of our realizations: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaOH7tVh3hU ).

REQUIRED LANGUAGESFRENCH: BasicENGLISH: Good
Knowledge in algorithms, AI, or robotics is required. A good knowledge of programming language is mandatory. Knowledge of common robotics tools like ROS would be appreciated.
