The project aims at producing a comprehensive analysis of time representations - biographical, poetic, civic, imperial time - in Ovid’s exile poetry (Tristia, Ibis, Epistulae ex Ponto). The analysis will focus on the peculiarities offered by the exilic corpus as compared with other Augustan authors as well as Ovid’s previous works showing a more prominent interest in time and temporality (Metamorphoses and Fasti). Special concem will be also directed at possible continuities with/divergences from the tradition of love elegy.

Eligibility criteria

Applications are invited from candidates who have completed a PhD in Science of Antiquities, Classical Philology, Latin language and literature, philological, linguistic and historical classical disciplines.
Candidates who have completed the aforementioned degrees abroad may also apply, if said degrees are recognized as equivalent to Italian degrees.
Knowledge of English and German is also required to carry out the research activity.
