A research focused on the reconstruction of the animal economy in the Po Valley during the Bronze Age has started in collaboration between the University of Bologna and the Superintendency of the Metropolitan city of Bologna, and with financial support from the Metropolitan City of Bologna. In this framework, the faunal complex discovered at the Terramara of Pragatto will be the subject of a comprehensive zooarchaeological investigation aimed at defining the presence of various domestic and wild animal species and their specific exploitation strategies. The site was in fact located in a territory strategic for understanding the cultural and economic relationships between Northern Italy and the Central and Apennines areas. The research plan will comprise several steps of implementation, from the laboratory activities to the statistical analysis of the faunistic data and the eventual publication of the results in agreement with the different institutions involved.
