Professor María Morrás, established at the Humanities Department of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) is interested in receiving Expressions of Interest of potential candidates for the Marie Sklodowska - Curie Individual Fellowship (MSCA - IF) 2018 call.
Prof. Morrás' research interests focus on Iberian Middle Ages, from the reception of Classical tradition and the introduction of Humanism in 15th century Spain to cancionero poetry, with incursions in Golden Age theatre. Her work is oriented to the exploration of the history of ideas, and the role of literature in shaping and responding to intellectual and historical contexts. Her current research deals on forms of female sanctity and its relation to political power. She has published also over 60 articles on textual criticism, Humanism, translations in the Middle Ages, wisdom literature, female sainthood and digital humanities in national and international journals. Currently Prof Morrás is the PI of a Project on 'Gender, Spirituality and Power: the emergency of Female Authority at court and convent in the Middle Ages and Early Modern Spain', integrated by an international team of 13 researchers, one of them a MSCA fellowship.
Prof. Morrás is interested in sponsoring up to 2 post-doctoral students working in any subject related to her project and/or in the broad area of Digital Humanities, especially research topics on Medieval and Early Modern Cultural and Literary Studies on the Iberian Peninsula, preferably with a gender perspective.
The annual budget includes funding for salary, research costs and a contribution to the overhead costs of the host organisation. Salary is not negotiable and based on H2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie rates. Fellows will have their offices at the UPF main campus (Ciutadella). The campus offers libraries and IT services, language training and cultural/sports services. From their office, fellows will have remote access to the UPF libraries, to inter-library lending, IT Services and to an extensive range of electronic resources including journals.
Eligibility criteria according to the call:
At the deadline for the submission of proposals researchers:
- shall be in possession of a doctoral degree or 4 years of full-time equivalent experience;
- must not have resided or carried out their main activities in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the above mentioned deadline.
Researchers willing to apply should check that they fulfill the eligibility criteria and then send an expression of interest, consisting of:
- A Curriculum Vitae (5 pages max);
- A summary presentation of their research proposal (ca. 5 pages);
- A motivation letter (1 page)
- The contact information of two referees
