-Consult the digitized pages of a population census register of a small Polish town dating from the 1930s
-Systematically copy the information contained in this register into a spreadsheet (in Excel or OpenOffice form) following the instructions given.
-Share the material input in work team meetings

The mission of this contract is to transcribe historical sources and enter them into a spreadsheet for future uses, as part of the Lubartworld ANR team.

This work is part of the Lubartworld research project, funded by the ANR
TREMPLIN, which is conducting collective research on the demographic structures of a small town in Poland from the 1920s to the 1950s, including the evolution of the
migrations and journeys of the inhabitants of this city, Jews and non-Jews alike. The work will be carried out in coordination with the ANR research team, and under the responsibility of the Director of the laboratory. The workplace and working hours are free, in compliance with the 35 hours weekly.
It is absolutely necessary to have a personal laptop and a internet connection. Participation in bi-weekly pooling meetings
of the work and discussion will be required (attendance time included in the working time weekly)

Eligibility criteria

-Scrupulously follow the instructions
-Read and understand handwritten texts
-Ability to transcribe handwritten texts with care and attention
-Ability to participate in a research collective
-Knowledge of Polish is otherwise necessary or at least highly recommended, since the register is written in Polish.
-The interest in the history of Poland in the interwar period, for the history of migration and population is a plus that will be greatly appreciated. Experience in entering data in Excel (or OpenOffice) and/or a good knowledge of Excel (or OpenOffice) software is another plus.
