Civil Engineering, constructions structural mechanics
This position aims at reinforcing a research topic concerning the mechanics of materials and civil engineering structures. The candidate will have to contribute actively to the experimental “structural division” of the laboratory. His role will be to strengthen the expertise of LMDC thanks to skills in experimental mechanics of construction materials, metrology, image correlation, optical fibers measurements, mechanical devices management (e.g. bi-axial press used for brace elements testing in earthquake-resistant applications). The research activities include traditional materials used in civil engineering, as well as new materials having a lower environmental impact (e.g. walls made of crude earth bricks, blocks reinforced by natural fibers, beams and walls cast with alkali-activated binders, etc.). The ability of the candidate to carry out mechanical tests, including instruments expertise and the monitoring of structural elements under complex loads, will be appreciated for this position.
Particular collective duties:
- Job profile :
Civil engineering, constructions structural mechanics – The candidate is postgraduate in Civil Engineering. The main teaching activity of the post relates to concrete structures, structural bracing, seismic design, Building Information Modelling, and reinforced concrete lab –
- Research Fields :
Civil engineering, constructions structural mechanics – This position aims at bringing support to research activities in experimental structural behavior for new and low environmental impact constitutive materials – Experimental skills will be appreciated in metrology, optical fibers, digital image correlation, press and test driving -
- Other activities
