Required qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Earth Sciences in the field of Oceanology
  • higher education in Physical Oceanography or Earth sciences in the field of oceanography
  • thorough and documented knowledge of measurements methods of physical and chemical characteristics of sea water, including inherent and apparent optical properties of sea water
  • documented and practical knowledge of laboratory measurements of physical and biogeochemical characteristics of sea water, including inherent optical properties of the sea water
  • documented and practical knowledge of application of absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy methods for dissolved organic matter characterization
  • knowledge of high-level programming languages (with special focus on Matlab)
  • documented knowledge of statistical modeling including multi-dimension analysis, e.g. PARAFAC
  • documented experience in conducting research on board of research vessels in various geographical regions, including Arctic region
  • documented experience in presenting results of scientific research in form of scientific publications (the scientific records of the candidate included in the bibliographic databases - Web of Science, Scopus, will be taken into account; the evaluation criteria applied by the MNiSW will be used to evaluate the scientific achievements of the candidate)
  • experience in preparing proposal and carrying out research projects
  • experience in presentation of scientific results at national and international conferences
  • good command of Polish and English
