The Department of Ancient History, Papyrology and Epigraphy is seeking to appoint an university assistant (prae doc) with sepecialization in "Etruscology and Pre-Roman Italy Studies" from June 2019. We are a dynamic research and teaching department with about 25 staff members, which, in close cooperation with national and international research institutions and and with a broad thematic and methodological scope, deals with all areas of ancient history and archaeology, from the beginning of the written tradition to the end of Late Antiquity.

Active participation in research, teaching and administration.
- Involvement in research projects / research studies.
- Participation in publications / academic articles / presentations.
- Contribution to organization of conferences, meetings, workshops (support of Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Petra Amann, chair in Etruscology and Pre-Roman Italy Studies)
- Contribution to project application and the acquisition of third-party funding
- We expect the successful candidate to write a dissertation in the area of "Etruscology and Pre-Roman Italy Studies" and to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months
- Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as definded by the collective agreement
- Examination activities
- Supervision of students
- Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance
- Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration

- Short doctoral project proposal (3-5 pages)

- Degree certificates
- Proof of good knowledge of the Italian language
