The candidate should be experienced in experimental archaeology, functional analysis applied to groundstones and in the interpretation of vegetal/animal/mineral micro-residues on stone tools using reflected and transmitted polarized light. The researcher will be part of the ERC project “Plant foods in Palaeolithic and Mesolithic societies of SE Europe and Italy” (PI: Prof. E. Cristiani). The researcher will carry out experimental activities aimed at creating an experimental comparison collection of micro-residues. Morphological characteristics of residues will be analyzed in reflected and transmitted polarized light. Finally, the researcher will study micro-residues preserved on ancient stone tools and dental calculus
