The project intends to tackle the study of historical buildings in northern Italy in the period between the late antiquity and the early Middle-Ages, when the development of the urban age in Italy was a reflection in the presence of the archeology of architecture. new stone and brick products, linked to the construction sector, which almost completely replaced the use of re-used materials, widely used in the early Middle Ages. The aim is to integrate the knowledge of the evolutionary scenario (IV-XII century AD), highlighted in Piedmont with unprecedented checks on the built, even in excavation contexts, selecting clarifying examples that can be correlated by chronology, socio-cultural context, typology, technique of realization, to other contexts present in northern Italy to frame, in a supraregional and diachronic vision, problems addressed only at the regional level.
