- Contact with numerous museum institutions in Spain, in order to seek permissions for study.
- Investigation of worked bone assemblages in order to identify the osseous materials used.
- Inventory and typo-technological study of the whale-bone objects identified and integration in a database.
- Whenever possible, seeking permissions for borrowing and sampling with the purpose of physical-chemical analysis on some of the objects.
The researcher will be responsible for the organization of his/her tasks; he/she will work autonomously and in coordination with the other project members.

As a part of the PaleoCet project, "The Exploitation of Whales in the Paleolithic of Atlantic Europe" (ANR 18-CE27-0018-01), the researcher's task will be to investigate the collections of worked osseous objects from Late Upper Paleolithic sites (Magdalenian culture) on the northern coast of Spain, in order to identify objects possibly made of whale bone. Prior to this, he/she will make a list of the museums hosting such collections and get in touch with them in order to seek permissions for study. The researcher will make an inventory of the whale-bone objects identified, carry out their typological and technological study, and, whenever possible, seek permissions for borrowing and sampling with the purpose of physical-chemical analysis. The researcher will participate in the publication of the results along with other project members involved in the study.

The Traces laboratory is located on the campus of the Toulouse Jean-Jaurès University. It has more than 150 members and covers the whole chronological range of archeology, from ancient Prehistory to the Middle Ages. The researcher will be a member of department SMP3C, "Society and environment of hunter-gatherer populations". Research activities in the laboratory are supported by the ArcheoScience infrastructure, a mutualized research tool including 13 components among which technical platforms, material reference collections (Archeotheques), a documentation center and a research project center. The laboratory has an active policy of supporting project applications, the result of which was, among others, the allocation of 19 research grants from the French Agence Nationale de la Recherche in the last 8 years.
