A postdoctoral researcher position is available in the group of Dr. Damien Voiry at the University of Montpellier in France. The research project will study the electrocatalytic properties of two-dimensional (2D) materials for the reduction of CO2 in chemical fuels. The research will be conducted at the European Membrane Institute (European Membrane Institute, IEM, CNRS, UMR5635, UM, ENSCM) of the University of Montpellier. IEM is a leading institute in the field of membrane science with excellent technical support and internal facilities for the manufacture and characterization of membranes. The institute is affiliated to the University of Montpellier and member of the Pole Chemie Balard, Carnot Chemie Balard Institute and Labex CheMiSyst.

Eligibility criteria

Successful applicants must be motivated and able to conduct rapid research and work independently in a team-oriented environment. They should have a doctorate in electrocatalysis - ideally on CO2 reduction and ideally have experience in gas chromatography, HPLC and other analytical analytical techniques. Experience in the field of 2D materials is desired but not required.

- Product analysis (GC, HPLC, HPLC)
- Synthesis of low dimensional materials
- Physical characterizations of small materials
- Abilities: Openness, organizational skills, initiative, autonomy, synthesis, team spirit.

Additional comments

The project is supported by the European Research Council as part of the ERC Starting Grant program. Funding for this position is available for 3 years initially; the initial contract is one year with a possibility of extension.
