The candidate has to be able to perform radiocarbon dating and paleodiet analyses on the organic remains recovered from the excavations carried out as part of the project. The candidate has to be familiar with food dynamics and practices that characterised Tuscany in the analysed period. The candidate will have to develop an appropriate and selective protocol for the sample preparation, on the basis of the nature and typology of the single remains and of the variables that could have altered its preservation. In addition he/she will have to include analogous measurements on faunal remains and to be familiar with statistical tests aimed to integrating the obtained results. The candidate will have to be able to read and process a large number of primary sources and research publications in English and Italian. The aim of the study is to reconstruct diet habit strategies in Tuscany in the 7th-12th c. AD.
