The parameters to be evaluated involve mitochondrial DNA depletion, taking into account the determination of copynumber by the qPCR; and also the evaluation of the rearrangements (deletions) and the complete sequencing of the mitochondrial genome in large-scale genomic (NGS).

Profile

The candidate must hold a Ph.D title with emphasis in urology, or related Disciplines (the Ph.D title cannot have been obtained more than two years from the application deadline). It is emphasized that knowledge of renal anatomy and histology are required, besides the experience with techniques relevant to the proposal of new generation sequencing tools for conducting mitochondrial genome isolation and extraction;experience with real-time PCR (qPCR), conventional PCR, NGS library preparation for Ion Torrent PGM and manipulation of bioinformatics data of the mitochondrial genome (will be considered strong differentials) are also required as well. In addition, the candidate must have previous experience for collecting, transporting and storing human biological material obtained from surgery.
