Postdoc Fellowship in Immuno-Oncology.
Center for Research in Transplantation and Immunology (CRTI), Nantes, France.
-The CRTI (http://crti.univ-nantes.fr/) welcomes applications for a 2-3 year research position at the level of postdoctoral fellow. The expected start date is February 1st 2019. The Post-doctoral Fellow will join a French National Research Agency (ANR) funded program examining «Application for cancer therapy of a novel myeloid immune checkpoint C-type lectin-like receptor» (C-LECT-INHIB).
-This programs is a collaboration of the « Center for Research in Transplantation and Immunology (CRTI) of Nantes, specialized in immunointervention with a French Biotech company OseImmunotherapeutics, specialized in Research and Development of therapeutic molecules.
-The CRTI identified a C-type lectin-like receptor as an inhibitory receptor in myeloid cells, capable of restricting their activation and an effective immune response.
-This 3 year-project aims to:
- Better understand the mechanisms of this receptor in human and mouse myeloid cells and biological functions in cancer. For that, its role on antigen presentation, downstream T-cell polarization and anti-tumor responses will be studied using relevant tools and set-up cancer models in mice.
- Investigate whether antagonists of this receptor, represent novel treatment paradigm for cancer immunotherapy. For that antagonists of this receptor will be studied in preclinical studies in monotherapy or in combination with other checkpoint inhibitors. The most relevant antagonist will be identified for development and potential clinical application.
-The candidate will focus on the experimental aspect of the project related to the function of this C-type lectin-like receptor in human and mice myeloid cells and in anti-tumor responses using KO rodents or antagonists.
-He/She will contribute both intellectually and experimentally to the project. He/She should independently design, analyze and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments, communicate results clearly and concisely at internal and external meetings to contribute to daily advancement and strategic decisions, keep accurate record of experiments and results.
-Candidate must be self-driven and dynamic and thrives on being part of a team while efficiently works as individual.
-A PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology or equivalent qualifications.
-At least one peer-reviewed publication as a major author in the field of Immunology.
-Experience in mouse studies, flow cytometry, and molecular and cellular biology especially in myeloid cells and immune tolerance.
-Excellent working knowledge of English or French.
The positions will be at the CRTI (http://crti.univ-nantes.fr/), located in Nantes city in France under the supervision of Elise Chiffoleau (http://www.itun.nantes.inserm.fr/Team-1/Elise-Chiffoleau).
