Research Fellow (Fixed-Term Specified Purpose contract, up to 5 years) Reference (NA/130/18)
The Electrical Power Research Centre within the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is seeking a Research Fellow to investigate, in collaboration with Industry partners, the application of distributed controls in electric power grids using resources that are owned by different independent parties.
The successful candidate will report to the Principal Investigator of the cPAD project. The cPAD (Community Grid Project and Demonstrator) project is developing a prototype of an innovative system for communities that enables more distributed electricity production from renewable energy sources, using local electricity trading markets and smart contracts. The system will be demonstrated in a Living Lab in South Dublin County. The project has a budget of €1.6 Million over 2 years, funded by the IERC (International Energy Research Centre) and various industry partners.
Hours of work: A 39 hour working week is in operation
