This post offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with industry to solve real world problems with innovative technology solutions. The successful candidate will be joining the tPOT Research Group in the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering to work on a new line of research in the use of the state of the art in electronic systems and ICT to solve current real world challenges in a project known as GREENEYES. The candidate will initially work on an Enterprise Ireland project that is using novel image and sensor acquisition technologies to capture datasets that are related to grassland qualities and silage processing decisions. These novel image and sensor datasets can then be used in concert with other datasets to estimate the likely condition of the grassland and can thus be used to inform critical decisions as to the best treatments for that cut grass. The captured datasets will be used to build accurate, ergonomic and robust predictive models of silage processing parameters.
Hours of work: A 39 hour working week is in operation
Location: DIT Kevin Street
Salary: €21,674 (Research Assistant A)/ €28,423 (Research Assistant B)
