Admission requirements
This competition is open to graduates in Geography or related areas who are enrolled in Master's programmes at Higher Education Institutions.
The successful candidate must have the following requirements:
- A degree in Geography;
- Be enrolled on a Master's programme in Human Geography;
- Knowledge of ArcGis and ArcMap, as well as Excel, Word and Power Point;
- Knowledge of managing social networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter;
- Proficiency in Portuguese and English (fluency and rigour in oral expression).

Eligibility of applicants
Applicants must meet the eligibility conditions set out in Article 9 of the FCT I.P. Research Grant Regulations (Regulation no. 950/2019, published in Diário da República, 2nd series, no. 241 on 16 December).

Specific Requirements

Project Overview
The European Web Site on Integration (EWSI; https://migrant-integration.ec.europa.eu/home_en ) is an initiative of the European Commission and

falls under the responsibilities of the Directorate General for Home and Migration Affairs. The site is the only EU-wide source of up-to-date information (events, news and publications and good practices) on the integration of Third Country Nationals for policy makers.

Work programme
The work plan for the research fellow to be hired is as follows:
- Research, collection, writing and translation of news, events, publications and good practices on the integration of Third Country Nationals in Portugal;
- Collecting and analysing information to respond to specific requests from the Migration Policy Group on thematic reports and specific EWSI analyses;
- Disseminating information on the integration of third-country nationals in Portugal on the EWSI-Portugal Facebook page and via the Twitter social network, following the Migration Policy Group's specifications;
- Creating and managing the MIGRARE Research Group's social media pages (namely the LinkedIn page);
- Collect and process quantitative and qualitative information on migration;
- Carry out automatic mapping.

Duration of the grant
The research grant will last for 6 (six) months and may be renewed. The grant is scheduled to start in November 2024, and the duties will be carried out on an exclusive dedication basis.

Monthly maintenance allowance
The amount of the grant corresponds to €990.98 according to the table of values of grants awarded directly by FCT, I.P. in the country (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores).

Selection methods
The applicable selection method will be curricular assessment of the candidates.


Assessment parameters: 

The curricular assessment comprises the following parameters:
- Curriculum Vitae (35%);
- Degree classification (35%);
- Proficiency in Portuguese and English (fluency and rigour in oral expression) (15%);
- Motivation letter (15%).


The selection board may, if it deems it necessary, call the candidates in the top 3 positions for an interview. In this case, the interview will have a weight of 30 per cent, to be added to the score obtained in the first selection phase, which will have a weight of 70 per cent.


The jury may not award a grant if the candidates do not match the desired profile.

Selection process

How the results will be publicised/notified
The final results of the assessment will be communicated to the candidates by means of a notification sent to the email address indicated for this purpose.
If the result is unfavourable to the award of the grant applied for, candidates have a period of 10 working days in which to give their opinion, if they so wish, at a prior hearing for interested parties, under the terms of articles 121 and 122 of the Code of Administrative Procedure (DL no. 4/2015 of 7 January and its amendments).

The selected candidate must express their intention to accept the scholarship in writing. In the event of non-acceptance, the grant will be awarded to the candidate in order of final ranking.

Application deadline and form of submission
The competition is open from 7 to 20 November 2024.
Applications must be sent by email to bolsas-ceg@igot.ulisboa.pt, accompanied by the following documents:
a) Letter of motivation;
b) Curriculum Vitae;
c) Certificate of qualification. Regarding the qualification certificate, if the degree was obtained at a foreign institution, it must be recognised by a Portuguese institution in accordance with Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of August 16 and Ministerial Order no. 33/2019, of January 25, in its wording in force at the time of application);
d) In the case of foreign citizens, a document proving residence in Portugal, namely a residence permit or other legally equivalent document;
e) Proof of enrolment in a Master's programme;
f) Other supporting documents deemed relevant;
g) Declaration of prior consent to communication by electronic means.

The reference to the competition Ref. EWSI_2024 must be indicated in the subject of the application e-mail.
