Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT is seeking for one post-doctoral candidate focusing on the development of high-performing electrodes for Li-ion batteries and energy storage systems.The successful candidate will join the Graphene Labs (main premises

in Genoa) and work in the framework of the Future & Emerging

Technologies flagship project on graphene and other 2D crystals, Graphene Flagship (http://graphene-flagship.eu/), funded by the European Commission with Grant Agreement n. 785219 for the 2013-2023 period.

The selected candidate will join the group coordinated by Dr Fabio Di Fonzo at the CNST@PoliMI, IIT in Milano, Italy.

He/She will work in the field of plasma synthesis of nanomaterials

for the development of high-performing electrodes for Li-ion batteries

and energy storage systems. This will involve the plasma reactor set up

as well as the plasma synthesis and post-processing preparation of

nanoparticles and other nanomaterials of interest for energy storage

technology, their surface engineering, assembly and device fabrication

and characterizations. The major objective is to develop a full Li-ion

battery obtained by coupling plasma synthetized nanoparticels with 2d

nanomaterials-based anode and cathode.

 

Eligible applicants should have a PhD in Chemistry, Physics or

Material Science and a proven expertise in plasma processing and plasma

synthesis of nanomaterials, with strong background in the advanced

techniques of nanomaterials characterization and in materials science. A

preferential title for the candidate is the expertise in Li-ion battery

electrodes fabrication and testing.
