The aim of the CUPID project is to develop a thorough understanding of the current model of paediatric unscheduled healthcare provision in Ireland and the impact of recent policy interventions. CUPID will describe the patterns of children’s visits to their GP and Emergency Departments and the factors that lead to these patterns.

The Postdoctoral Researcher will work closely with the PI and Work Package Leaders to deliver on work packages 1 & 2 of the programme. The focus of this work is on: the extraction, preparation and cleaning of data sets for analysis; the investigation of the temporal trends of paediatric GP attendance and paediatric ED attendance and healthcare outcomes; assessing the impact of free primary care coverage for the under 6 year old population on the observed trends. Joinpoint regression models will

be used to identify statistically significant changes in temporal trends.
