The National Center for Scientific Research in France (CNRS) is recruiting a European Project Manager for the final year of its largest EU funded research project - TASCMAR (www.tascmar.eu), coordinated by the Institut de Chimie des Substance Naturelles (Scientific Coordinator, Dr Jamal Ouazzani). TASCMAR is a collaborative research project funded under the Horizon 2020 programme for research and innovation and involves a project consortium of 13 academic and commercial project partners spread over 8 countries in Europe, Israel and Thailand. 

The European Project Manager will act as a key expert in the implementation of the project, ensuring that all requirements are met as laid out in the funding agreement and consortium agreement. The successful candidate will liaise daily with the project's scientific coordinator and senior contacts of the 13 partner organizations to ensure the timely implementation of all tasks and preparation of deliverables. He/She will coordinate with CNRS financial and administrative services and with the funding agency to prepare the project's financial and technical reporting to the European Commission.

Major efforts will be dedicated by the successful candidate to implementing the TASCMAR strategy for communication and dissemination - ensuring that the project's main results and goals are communicated effectively to diverse target groups throughout TASCMAR participant countries and internationally. The EPM will be responsible for organizing the project's final event in the first quarter of 2019, which will target the scientific community, industry and policy-makers. In addition, the recruited project manager will focus additional efforts on identifying and establishing offshoot activities to maximize the project's impact. 

The successful candidate will work with a high degree of rigor, will have excellent analytical and numeracy skills, and will be able to maintain harmonious relations with a wide variety of colleagues from different cultures and scientific/commercial sectors. It is essential that the successful candidate have excellent written and spoken English and ideally a good level of French. The contract is initially for one year, with a possibility for renewal.

Skills/Qualifications

The successful candidate should have a proven ability to take a rigorous, proactive and creative approach to working. He/She should have excellent communication skills and should be able to maintain harmonious working relations with diverse colleagues and stakeholders in the public and private sectors in different cultures. Project management experience, ideally in the area of EU funded projects and in particular experience of reporting procedures for funded research projects is highly desirable. A strong interest in and experience of communication/dissemination of research, including event organization would be appreciated, as would some basic knowledge of website management. The successful candidate should be able to understand and effectively communicate complex and unfamiliar scientific ideas. Training in the area of chemistry, biology or pharmacology would be appreciated, although is not essential.

A previous experience in multipartner projects management is much appreciated
