For a joint project of the Nanotribology Group (Prof. Dr. Roland Bennewitz) and the Innovation Center INM (Dr. Peter Oliveira) we are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow with interest in the field of

 

Haptic perception of materials

who holds a PhD in Materials Science or Physics. Candidates with a PhD in Psychology and explicit interest in experiments on the physical processes of haptic perception will also be considered. Experiences with contact mechanics, skin friction, or psychophysical experiments would be helpful. The scientific goal of the project is to reveal relevant material parameters in the perception of micro-structured surfaces by touch. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to also reach out to prospective industrial partners of the INM.

Specific Requirements

This postdoc position is initially limited to one year and is to be filled as soon as possible. Salary and working hours are in accordance with the German state public service salary scale (E13 TV-L) and the accordant social benefits.
