A publication for a position of 1 month under the Specific Subsidy Contract 1 (SGA1), which finances the Human Brain Project research until March 31, 2018. Specifically, the position is linked to Subprojects 1 and 6 , whose main objectives are to generate data on the quantitative microanatomy of the brain for modeling purposes. The post will focus on the technical assistance of the activities proposed in the scientific work plan of the relevant tasks.

The position is part of the tasks performed by the Cajal Laboratory of Cortical Circuits, located in the Center for Biomedical Technology (at the Polytechnic University of Madrid).

Skills/Qualifications

· Doctorado en Biotecnología

· Especialista en Histología e Inmunocitoquiatécnicas emicales

· Capacidad para trabajar de forma independiente y como miembro de un equipo de investigación.

· Fluido en inglés escrito y hablado

· El conocimiento de la lengua española sería una ventaja

· Como parte del trabajo implica la investigación de modelos animales, el candidato debe tener una acreditación que permita el uso de animales con fines científicos a nivel local .

Specific Requirements

  • Experience in the use of statistical and image software (EspINA, ImageJ)
  • Demonstrable experience (3 years minimum) in sample preparation, tissue culture techniques and analysis on brain tissue.
  • First author of scientific research publications.

Other important prerequisites are proactivity and the ability to cooperate in a research team.
