Duties and responsibilities:
As a senior employee, the post holder will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to patients. Integral to the responsibilities of the posts are the following requirements:-
As a Consultant Radiologist with a special interest you will join a team of specialist Radiologists to create a robust team across the Trust offering interventional/ cross-sectional reporting skills to the Trust and wider GP community and managing increasing demand for services.
To work with local managers and professional colleagues in the efficient running of services and to share with Consultant colleagues in the medical contribution to management.
Provision of a Diagnostic Imaging service, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department.
The candidate would be expected to be proficient but not necessarily expert across the spectrum of general radiology including CT, MRI, Ultrasound Fluoroscopy, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine. Whilst a subspecialty interest would be welcomed it is not essential. Most areas of subspecialist interest can be accommodated.
The post holder will be expected to participate in appropriate MDTs.
To provide effective leadership to all staff engaged in this specialty
To conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Division’s and Trusts service plans
Teaching, supervision and development of Junior doctors in the Department, medical students and non-medical staff as appropriate
Regular audit
Person Specifications: MBBS
Higher Qualifications: FRCR
Current Registration: Should have attained or be within 6 months of attaining CCST in Specialty at time of interview. Current full registration with GMC
Experience in the Specialty: Experience in general radiology and the specialisation applied for as demonstrated by log book including CT, MRI and Plain Film as well as intervention where appropriate
