RESEARCH ASSISTANT (POLISH: ASYSTENT) (f/m) in the Department of Metrology and Modelling of Agrophysical Processes

in the Project „Water in soil – satellite monitoring and improving the retention using biochar” (Acronym: SoilAqChar) financed by National Centre for Science and Development under the “Environment, agriculture and forestry" – BIOSTRATEG III strategic R&D programme

Offer Requirements

Skills/Qualifications

Obligatory requirements:

  • master’s degree in Physics or related
  • proven record of scientific papers (apart from master’s thesis)
  • proven record of research activities (e.g. extracurricular research training period, research internships, participation in scientific conferences) or organizing popularization events (e.g. membership in students scientific associations or related organizations),
  • having graduated university with at least good final result (Polish: ocena dobra [4,0])
  • providing recommendation letter issued by the research supervisor
  • very good command in English, including specialist terminology

 

Additional requirements:

  • experience in field and laboratory measurements of soil
  • skills (basic) in operating agro-meteorological stations and radiometers
  • experience in satellite data processing and remote-sensing
  • experience in spectroscopic techniques (UV-VIS-NIR range)
  • practical knowledge of: Linux, PHP or Python, MySQL, Matlab or Mathematica, GIS systems
