------------------------------------

The focus of our research group is the optimal control of coupled spin systems. We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student to work on optimal control problems in close collaboration with experimental groups in field of quantum technologies with a focus on quantum sensing.

We aim to optimize sensing experiments using cutting-edge optimal quantum control methods to enhance functionality of sensing devices. The results can be widely applied, e.g. to spins strongly coupled to a resonator and NV centers in diamond. We will exploit cooperative effects in the experimental schemes to minimize the effects of experimental imperfections and optimize sensing experiments in noisy environments.
